On the other hand, if you still remaining days in your job before you leave, you cannot file right away. You can only file after the last day your job.

 

Eligibility Requirements for Unemployment Insurance in Arizona

 

Unemployment Insurance in Arizona is provided to an unemployed worker with all of the descriptions below:

 

1. Unemployed through no fault of his own; did not lose their jobs through work-related misconduct.

 

2. Unemployed but willing and able to work anytime.

 

3. Constantly looking for work, determined by filing reports to the local labor office showing that he is actively seeking for work.

 

Your employer should have been paying unemployment insurance tax required of them by the government. Aside from the above-mentioned basic factors that fit the description of an unemployed and your employer paying unemployment insurance tax, listed below are qualifications for any unemployed worker to receive unemployment insurance benefits. You must meet at least one qualification in the list.

 

1. Wages of at least $1,500 in one of the four quarters during your base period. Also, your total base period wages must be at least 1-1/2 times higher than your highest quarter wages during the base period; or

 

2. Total wages earned in at least two quarters of the base period amounting to a minimum of $7,000 with wages in one quarter equivalent to a minimum of $5,987.50.

 

The base period represents the first four quarters of the last five completed calendar quarters before the date you first applied for unemployment insurance benefits. The weekly unemployment payments in Arizona range from $60 to $240.

 

You must provide the following information when applying for initial unemployment insurance claims.

1. Your Social Security Number.

2. Arizona Driver’s License or AZ State Issued ID (Note: you may still complete your application without these two items).

3. Your mailing address, city, state and ZIP code.

4. County where you reside.

5. The names, addresses, and phone numbers of all your employers for the last 18 months.

6. The last day you worked before filing your UI claim.

7. If you received severance, vacation, holiday or payment for unused sick pay: give the gross amount and the date it was paid to you.

8. The name and local number of your union hall, when applicable.

9. Alien Registration Number, when applicable.

10. Copy # 4 of your DD Form 214 if released from the military in the last 18 months.

11. SF 8 or SF 50 if employed in Federal Civilian service in the last 18 months.

12. For those who are collecting a pension (other than Social Security), you will need the start date of the pension and the monthly benefit amount.
